"Greenhalgh Asia Pacific Pty Ltd" has implemented A Management System complying with the requirements of standard ISO 9001:2000.
From humble beginnings in 1954 the company principal, Keith Greenhalgh, formed a strong and viable company eventually specialising in the manufacture of heat exchangers.

In 1958 the family moved to Millaa Millaa in Northern Queensland after selling its interest in a Brisbane business and Greenhalgh Refrigeration & Electrical was born. This business mainly dealt with installation & servicing. Continually operating until 1965, the business operations were eventually transferred to Cairns on the east coast of Northern Queensland.

A manufacturing arm of the company was added in 1969, which produced products for the catering & refrigeration industries and in 1978, Keith purchased a site at Caloundra and commenced trading as he had in Cairns. The business continued to grow and the decision was taken to change the direction of the company into heat exchange/coil making. The catering side of the business was gradually scaled back and the transition to full coil making was effected in 1987 with a complete range of evaporators, condensers and de-humidification units.

With the passing of Keith in 1996 the Greenhalgh family continued to run the business until January 2002 when it was purchased by the Chandra family from Surabaya in Indonesia and the company name became Greenhalgh Asia Pacific Pty. Ltd.

The first year maintained the “status quo” with a period of consolidation and a full review of the business operations. In May 2002, Greenhalgh Asia Pacific started the first trial export to Indonesia.

Greenhalgh started a new historical period on 21 January 2003 by a “sod-turning” ceremony for the first stage of the new 2400 sq. m. factory at 26 Enterprise Street, Caloundra. This will improve productivity by putting all the production facilities under one roof. The new factory was completed in mid June 2003 and started the first production run on 23 June 2003.

Meanwhile, Greenhalgh is also starting to restructure by optimizing the existing team & combining it with the international resources of the Chandra family. The company has plans to set up representative offices in Indonesia & Singapore, has a new marketing strategy, new logo, new product range, new brochures, website, research and development plans and is already upgrading the machinery facility. As an international company, Greenhalgh has also implemented the Management System complying with the requirements of standard ISO 9001:2000 and received the Certificate of Approval on 15th August 2003.

On 29th August 2003, the new factory was formally opened by The Minister for State Development, Tom Barton MP, and approximately 150 people attended the grand opening ceremony, made up of Greenhalgh customers, suppliers, friends and family. Also present were potential clients from 11 overseas countries.

History was also made when the Company shipped out the first 40 ft container to Singapore after the Grand Opening.
